Royal Bath Hotel Bournemouth

We’ll come back because the hotel was lovely and traditional, the staff were really friendly, and it’s easy to get to the shops, restaurants and beach. The lounge and dining areas were excellent, and the pool and spa were good. Our early season stay did show a few things that need attention: the patio and front steps needed sweeping, the garden bins were full, there were cobwebs on the lights and dirty windows with bits left on the sills all week. The wardrobe was grubby, and there weren’t many sockets or any by the bed. The food was only about five out of ten. There was no fresh fruit and it wasn’t hot. I also didn’t like paying £5 to swim when we could have stayed for the day, especially as hotel guests, and £25 a day for parking felt extortionate. Still, overall we had a good stay.

RHYS in the Lounge Bar really made our two day break. We were the only guests having dinner on our first night, and he went out of his way to arrange our evening meal. The room was airy and spacious, with a sea view, and breakfast was lovely. The dining room manager welcomed us so warmly. Wonderful staff made it a great break, and we’d highly recommend staying here.

The cosy seating by the bar was a nice spot, and the hotel itself is pleasant. We paid £98 for two nights in a double room, which felt fair. There’s no hotel parking, but the public car park next door costs £20 for 24 hours in winter and rises to £25 in summer.

The room was huge, and we had a wonderful weekend. The hotel is beautiful, with an old fashioned, regal feel, and the spa building and facilities were inviting and well kept. Our package deal included food and entertainment and was great value. The location is brilliant, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. We’d absolutely stay again. The only things that bothered me were the lack of daily room cleaning and the sickly, unpleasant smell of the cleaning products. Otherwise, good value for money. Thanks for a lovely time.
