On our third visit, we expected the friendly, family run feel and the amazing breakfast we remembered. Instead, the hall stand and welcome chocolates were gone, and no staff member was around on any day. We were given a code to get in, and our car was the only one there. It seemed we might have been the only guests. The room had an outdated TV and a remote with nearly dead batteries. For two guests staying two days, there were just two little pots of UHT milk, with none available in the main hall, so we had to buy milk and instant coffee sachets ourselves. Having the bathroom across the hall was a nuisance when we needed the loo, wanted to fill the kettle or wash our hands. The whole place felt eerie. Things had changed massively since our last stay, and we really should have gone to the good old Premiere Inn.

My room didn’t have its own bathroom. It was across the corridor, and I had to unlock it with a key each time. I’d seen reviews mentioning breakfast, but they don’t offer it here. At 10am, the cleaner came into my room without knocking. I then got a message saying checkout was at 10:30, although the information in the room said 11. There are much better hotels in Bournemouth.

The en suite room was luxurious and very clean, with a double bed big enough for two people and a child. There’s also a pantry in the restaurant with a microwave and fridge. Parking is free, though tight. I had to park close to the fence so I wouldn’t block the entrance. The hotel has a great atmosphere and sits high on the hill, overlooking the beach, which is within walking distance. Check-in could be smoother: the form requested card details, and I wasn’t comfortable sharing them, but there was no alternative.

Amazing new studio flats, great quality property, and a security concierge service.

Breakfast was great, with cereal, fruit, pastries and a full English. I’m gluten-free, and they handled that without any problem. We also appreciated the chocolates, the good-sized room with air conditioning, and the complimentary toiletries in the en suite. We had a lovely anniversary break. The banner and petals were a nice touch. I’d definitely stay again and highly recommend the hotel to anyone heading to Bournemouth.
