The Leigh Park Country House Hotel & Vineyard, BW Signature Collection stands within five acres of grounds with its own walled garden and vineyard. Our hotel is a relaxing, informal venue located seven miles from the Georgian City of Bath. A wealth of history lies on the doorstep and the original house was gift to the Earl of Leicester from Queen Elizabeth I in 1574. All 22 bedrooms have been individually designed with fabrics and furnishings that complement the surroundings, offering charm, and character with all modern facilities. Family, king-size, and four poster rooms are available on request. The hotel's Winston's Dining Room overlooks the Wiltshire Downs. The chefs offer both traditional English and International cuisine with imaginative dishes cooked to order. Whether you require a business or social gathering, the Fitzmaurice suite is the ideal function room. Conferences and meetings are catered for up to 120 delegates, with a choice of three meeting rooms available, which will appeal to the discerning conference organizer. The hotel Gazebo now has a license for civil ceremonies.

The staff were friendly and professional, and the view and decor are lovely, with classical paintings, wallpaper, a spiral staircase and little room doors. There’s plenty of parking, and electric chargers are available, though the hotel doesn’t manage them. The room had a TV, lamps and tea, plus a bath and toiletries, towels and a shower cap. Vegan choices were limited, but there was a soup and pie at dinner, a vegan sausage at breakfast, and soya milk, Flora, Marmite and jams for toast. They were okay. There were a few niggles. The room was freezing when we arrived because the radiator wasn’t working. The manager came up straight away but couldn’t fix it, so brought plug-in heaters and offered us another room. We’d already unpacked. The beds and floorboards creaked, the bed wasn’t very comfortable and smelled a bit musty, and the blankets were just left on the closet floor. The curtains didn’t close properly, the bathroom door scraped along the floor, and the TV remote only worked from one particular angle. Hot water in the shower took a while to come through. Crows were very loud and constant early in the morning, though the other songbirds were nice. It was very quiet when we ate, and we were the only table.

We had a lovely countryside view from our room, and the location worked well for visiting Bath. It’s about a 20-minute drive, which meant we could avoid the inflated prices in Bath during the Christmas Market. We stayed for a few days in December, Sunday to Tuesday, and there weren’t many other guests, so it felt quiet. There was a bit of a restaurant issue on the first night, but the rest of the staff were fantastic. I’d happily book again when I’m in the area. Great location.

The room was clean, with a large, comfortable bed and everything we needed. We also had beautiful views from the window. A polite, helpful member of staff greeted us at reception when we arrived for an overnight stay after meeting friends. We’ll definitely come back when we’re staying in Bradford upon Avon again.

We booked a bedroom for the day, which worked well for one of our family members. For the wake, we had the Vendange suite for more than 50 guests. The views from the function room were amazing, with direct access from the car park and double doors opening onto the garden. From our first contact, we were impressed by the attentive staff. The event team gave helpful advice about the food and were happy to make changes to the suggested menu. On the day, everyone worked together to keep things running smoothly. They were kind, respectful and professional, which made a difficult day much easier given the circumstances. The tables and chairs were dressed and arranged as requested, and we were allowed in early to set up a tribute table at the head of the room. I haven’t added photos because of the nature of the event. Thank you to the team.

A large, cosy room, very clean and spacious, with a really big, comfortable bed and plenty of extra sheets and pillows. At £75 a night, it was very good value. The location is excellent for exploring Bradford on Avon. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.
