Holiday Inn Express Braintree

Kayleigh really made the stay for us. We saw her checking people in and out, serving food, working at the bar late, wiping tables, clearing bins and topping things up, then keeping the very busy breakfast rush moving. Guests were waiting impatiently for plates and forks, but she stayed calm, smiled and greeted everyone. Nothing seemed too much trouble for her or the other staff member we saw. She deserves a medal, and she’s a credit to the hotel. We’d come for a child-free night after a day shopping and a lovely dinner out. Kayleigh greeted us warmly when we got back, explained what we needed for a comfortable stay and mentioned the hotel was busy because of an event. She offered help with drinks to the room or changing breakfast arrangements. We had drinks at the bar that evening. The breakfast room was hectic the next morning, but Kayleigh was still smiling and professional. The food was lovely, and our room was clean and warm. My husband and I were really impressed. Thank you.

We both slept brilliantly, and the beds were a 10/10 for comfort. The rooms were clean and comfortable, perhaps a little dated, but completely fine. Staff were lovely, which matters most to me. Dinner and breakfast were nice enough, though nothing fancy. Mum and I stayed one night while in the area for a family funeral. The location worked perfectly, and the two women who welcomed us were lovely. I’d emailed the day before to ask if our two rooms could be close together and whether one could be accessible. Becky replied that day to say she’d arranged interconnecting rooms, with the accessible one for Mum. We really appreciated it. There weren’t plugs beside the beds, and Mum needed one for her c-pap breathing machine. Reception had an extension lead ready to lend me, so sorting that was no trouble. Thanks for a nice stay. The staff were really friendly and we had a very enjoyable stay. We were in town for a party, and the hotel was easy to find just off the main road, beside a carvery pub. Our room was a good size and clean, and there’s a small bar area. Breakfast was very nice too. A taxi to Braintree centre was about £8. Thank you.

We had a very large family group here for a nearby wedding, with plenty of requests to deal with. The reception team were polite, kind and helpful. During the three days and two nights, the housekeeping staff I came across worked quickly and efficiently. Thank you all.
