The room was dusty even after we were asked to leave it from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for cleaning. The shared bathroom had mold on the ceiling and no soap, and the mattress was so hard and worn that I had to sleep on the duvet for a bit of padding. I paid £50 a night, and the noise made it hard to rest too. There was no soundproofing between rooms, and the leaking hot tap kept making a loud noise all night. I reported it. Someone came to look briefly, but nothing was fixed and I wasn’t offered a solution or compensation. It felt like I was only pretending to sleep.

The worst part was the owner coming into my room without permission. On top of that, I could hear everything in the next room, the carpet was dirty, and the ensuite shower didn’t work properly. The lightbulb was burned out too. Worst place I’ve ever stayed.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, with coffee making facilities in the room, which was a real plus for me. There’s also a nice little garden to sit in. Manager Dave and the other guests made us feel welcome when we arrived yesterday. I’m here with my two children, aged 18 and 9, until Tuesday, and nothing seems too much trouble. I had my doubts after reading some reviews, but for the price I can’t fault it. We’ll definitely come back.

On our first day, housekeeping apparently thought we’d checked out and went through our belongings without permission. The hotel is also noisy, right beside a main road. At 8 PM, while we were in the room, a staff member aggressively tried to enter with a key, saying they were checking for smoke. There was no alarm or smoke, and we got no explanation. We called the police and left straight away. It felt unsafe and completely unprofessional. Avoid it.

Such a strange place. The rooms were warm and loud, and after we went out in the morning we couldn’t get back through the doors, even using the keycode on the card they gave us. The WiFi didn’t work either. People traveling with us also had a French boy trying to get into their room in the morning.
