The front desk team were wonderful. I only had a few requests, but they went out of their way to sort them out, and I’m very grateful. One woman I saw each night when I got back was especially lovely and always made sure room service arrived on time. I was here for two weeks on a last-minute business trip, and Adrian handled things as our company contact. Thanks to him, we got an incredible price. Thank you to everyone.

The Keepers restaurant is always a pleasure, especially with Liv and Alicia being so friendly and polite. Freya has also been quick and courteous when taking care of our order. I’ve stayed here many times over the years. The staff are consistently welcoming and accommodating, and they sort out any problems with our company bookings. I’m sure I’ll be back again soon.

Breakfast was fresh, with a good choice of hot and continental food, and it was replenished regularly. The dining room felt calm, and the food was up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel. The whole place was impressively quiet, too. My room was spotless and felt fresh, with a practical layout that didn’t feel cramped. The bed was very comfortable, the linens crisp, and the pillows supportive. The bathroom was modern and clean, with a powerful shower, fluffy towels, and good quality toiletries. There was plenty of light, plug sockets, reliable Wi Fi, and a useful desk, so I could relax or work easily. Check-in was quick, and the staff were warm and professional, happy to answer questions without making a fuss. The hotel seemed well run throughout. It’s modern and well maintained, with easy parking and a welcoming entrance. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The biggest problem was the parking. I paid the £6 overnight charge, left for dinner for a couple of hours, then came back to a completely full car park. Cars were on double yellow lines and even the drop-off area was packed, so I had to mount a curb and hope the car would be okay overnight. It felt ironic to pay and still not have a proper space. The first 30 minutes were free, and at first I hadn’t minded the charge. The room was an okay size, and the bed was comfortable. Towels, a hairdryer, kettle, and tea and coffee were provided, but there was no fridge, which was a nuisance since I’d bought milk for tea. I also found the industrial décor unfinished-looking, and the heating unit made noise overnight. There were plenty of plug sockets, though. No dressing table or decent place to do my hair and makeup, and the little stools used instead of bedside cabinets felt cheap. There were some nice touches: a free can of water, a cookie, and a personal note with a staff member’s direct contact details in case anything went wrong. Scanning to order food to the room was handy. Downstairs was clean, with lots of seating and a nice bar. Staff were friendly enough, though their basic red logo tops made the look feel inconsistent. Breakfast was simple, just sausage, scrambled egg, and beans. Fine, but nothing special. They had Starbucks at the bar, but my latte was poorly made. I checked in straight away at about 2:45pm on Thursday, since the room was ready, which was a good start. For one night the hotel was okay, but the parking and some of the room choices disappointed me. With a Premier Inn a minute down the road, I’d probably choose that next time.
