Oakwell Guest House

We booked three nights and struggled to get through the stay. The room was warm, which was the only good thing I can say. The smell in reception was vile, and the large man who greeted us, wearing what I think was a black T-shirt, had on one that was absolutely filthy.

We've stayed several times and will keep coming back. It felt relaxed, the breakfast and facilities were good, and it was great value for money. Lovely place in a great location, just a short walk into bird.

We booked two nights, but couldn't wait to get out and skipped breakfast on the second morning. I wouldn't go back. The place was dirty: what I took for reception was so cluttered you could hardly move, and getting into the room's bathroom was a squeeze because the door wouldn't open back against the wall. Breakfast was meant to be from 8:30 to 9:30, but the proprietor came downstairs at 8:50 to start cooking. His T-shirt had stains all down it, he looked disgusting and was still half asleep. When breakfast finally came, the sausage was raw and the eggs were snotty. The dining room was an absolute disgrace.

It wasn't very clean, and I couldn't sleep because the seagulls were squawking all night.
