Premier Inn Bridlington Seafront

The location was perfect for shops, pubs and other attractions, and parking was only £5 for 24 hours. The buffet at breakfast was clean and well presented, although the tables were sticky. The receptionist was lovely and helpful, and all the staff were friendly, especially in the restaurant. On the downside, the smell when we got out of the lift on the top floor was overpowering, like babies' full nappies. It was along the corridors, not in the room. The restaurant didn't have what we wanted that evening, so we chose chicken goujons and katsu curry, but both were pretty bad. The staff were doing their best, though.

The lasagne at dinner on our last night was wonderful, even though it looked burnt, but service wasn't great and I had to ask for my dessert. Breakfast was okay, though the bacon was underdone for my taste. When we arrived, the service was great and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. My shower felt like warm summer rain. A good experience overall.

The evening meal was average, and the dining room was cold enough to spoil the evening. Our table was sticky and needed a proper wash with soap and water to get rid of the spray residue. Some light fittings were missing bulbs, which could be dangerous. Breakfast was great, but the tables were still sticky and the serviettes stuck to them. We were met by a lovely receptionist who couldn't do enough for us, and the Premier Plus room was fantastic. I thought you'd want to know about the dining area.

The room and bathroom were clean, the beds were very comfortable as always, and there was plenty of tea, coffee and bathroom soap. The towels were lovely and fluffy. We were told in advance that the air con and heating weren't working, and when I plugged in the portable heater, one of the runners fell off because it had no screws holding it in place. The room also had a damp smell when we opened the door. We've stayed in bridlington two or three times a year and have usually been pleased, but the restaurant let us down this time. The staff were pleasant and tried to sort things out. We ordered two masala curries expecting them to be the same, but they were very different. One was like tomato soup with a few pieces of chicken floating in it, and wasn't very warm. The other was a thick, different-coloured curry that was stone cold, as was the rice. They took it away and brought it back warmed up. We definitely won't eat in the restaurant again.
