I booked through booking.com and was told at checkout that the quoted price covered everything, including fees. Then the hotel owner sent me a link to a different website and asked me to pay the same amount again as a ‘temp hold’ deposit. We stayed one night, just to sleep. It’s been five days and they still haven’t returned the deposit. They said it could take up to 48 hours to release it, then another five business days, or seven days, to arrive. Absolutely ridiculous. The new owners aren’t the same people who got the good reviews. Avoid this place. It’s old, cold and tiny, and the room photos look AI generated. Total scam.

It was £250 for one night, so I don’t know why such cheap prices are showing. My daughter in law had booked well ahead. I was there to look after the baby while she and her partner went to a wedding party at Racks, just across St Paul's road. We arrived with the baby shortly after 3, but the cleaner hadn’t been told that number 22 needed cleaning. Clothes were left on the sofa bed, along with sunglasses and half empty bottles. Dishes were piled in the sink, and there was a condom and tissue under the sofa bed. I stripped the beds, washed up and wiped the surfaces; the cleaner made the beds and vacuumed. The place felt dirty and tired and badly needed updating. The wardrobe back was broken, and the rug was filthy, so I kept my shoes on. The location was ideal, but it wasn’t worth the price. Please look after your cleaners, they have a lot to do between guests. I hope I left the place clean and tidy, with the beds stripped, dishes done and rubbish bag tied off. I expected a partial refund. It’s now November and I’ve heard nothing from the proprietor. There are plenty of cleaner, better value places to stay in Bristol.

We stayed two nights with a broken bed. Customer service’s response was basically “live with it.” They later offered a goodwill refund of 15%, but it never arrived. They went back and forth saying it had been paid and that my bank couldn’t trace it. They also did nothing to fix the room. The service was terrible, and there are better options nearby. Save yourself the hassle and avoid it.

We booked two nights at 2pm at the last minute because my partner’s dad had died and the funeral was set for the next day. We weren’t told that there was no reception team to let us in. To get the door keypad code, we had to fill in an online form, and they took an extra £100 security deposit from my card. Without that, they wouldn’t provide the code. We arrived at 11pm, only needing somewhere to sleep before the funeral. The listing called the basement room a 'Basic Apartment'. I chose it because the photos looked great and I thought an apartment would be larger than a studio. Instead it was tiny, smelled of mould and had only a mini kitchenette. There was no table like the photos suggested, even though I’d hoped to work online for a bit on the second day. I called and fortunately got an immediate answer from Aneta, the agent managing the rooms. After we explained the musty smell, she arranged a room on the second floor with a window and a table. It’s now been four days since checkout and my £100 deposit still hasn’t come back. I couldn’t have damaged anything: the first day I arrived at 11pm just to sleep, and the next day I was at the funeral all day, then at my partner’s from 11am to 11pm before returning only to sleep. I’m also missing a finger accessory ring. Aneta said she’d ask the cleaners, but hasn’t called back or updated me. When I messaged about the deposit, she deliberately didn’t answer. For an expensive room, be prepared to lose your deposit too. I chose this place only because it was close to my partner’s house, but there are plenty of other hotels and places to stay nearby. I’d book somewhere more reliable.

Parking was the main reason I chose Your Apartment, since free parking was included as an option when booking on their website. We were told there’d be a space, and the site said that only guests who had reserved and registered their vehicle with Your Apartment could park there, or risk a fine and being towed. When we arrived, though, there were no spaces. Either they accepted too many reservations or guests without reservations parked on site. The system needs to make sure people who reserve a space actually get one. We parked on the street instead and had to pay extra, which left me feeling very let down. We needed a last minute one night stay in Bristol in mid-July. Given the circumstances, the accommodation served us well and cost much less than the other available options around Clifton. The room was quite nice, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom smelled damp, and the wifi mentioned in our reservation email didn’t seem to exist.
