Future Inn Bristol

The location was excellent and the staff were amazing. We arrived early, but they found us a room that was ready. It was larger than the one we’d booked, and they didn’t charge us extra. Everything we needed was in the spotless room, including a lovely bed and hot showers. We’ll definitely choose Future Inn again.

We stayed four nights, then added another two when our travel plans changed. The kids loved it. The location was great, parking was free, and the rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Housekeeping had a couple of odd slips: one day the room was cleaned but there were no towels, and another day the beds were made but a rolled-up sheet had been left in the corner. It didn’t affect our stay, and staff responded very well when we told them. The free water at reception and fresh apples were a nice touch. We had breakfast once, though it’s easy to walk across the road to the cafes at the Cabot Centre.

The room was dated, which I could have accepted, but it wasn’t clean. There was grime and brown staining all along the shower door, the bathroom door wouldn’t lock, and the kettle was covered in limescale. The sheets didn’t feel fresh, and we found a clump of hair and large brown stains under them. There was another clump of hair in the sink drain. We booked another hotel that same night, something we’ve never done before. The photos on Booking don’t show the hotel’s current condition. Checking in was easy, though there wasn’t much personality or customer service. I’d booked four nights and left after one. Booking handled the issue well and refunded the unused nights. Do yourself a favour and don’t stay here.

We spent two nights here over Christmas and had no regrets. The breakfast was amazing, with lots of choices, and the room was exceptionally clean. Every member of staff, across front of house, back of house and housekeeping, was amazing and clearly cared about the guests. It was the best Christmas holiday we’ve had away from home, and we’ll definitely visit again.
