Breakfast was a nice start to the day, with hot choices and a quiet dining room with plenty of seats when we went down between 7-8am. The room was clean, the towels were fresh, and the hot drink setup was good. Check-in went smoothly, and the reception team were fantastic. LEIGH deserves a special mention, she was kind, friendly and attentive, and clearly knows her job inside out. She’s a real credit to Travelodge. The hotel feels modern and clean, and it’s handy for shops, bars and restaurants, all about a 10-15 minute walk away. There’s a co-op just across the road, and as a solo female traveller I felt very safe in the area. There was some road noise because the windows aren’t fully soundproof, but that’s to be expected in London and isn’t something the hotel can easily control. No complaints otherwise. I’d definitely stay here again for future work trips. Thanks to the whole team!

The price was a bargain, and the rooms were clean, fairly fresh looking and roomy enough, with comfy beds, nice bedding and good sized towels. We asked for more tea and coffee and they brought plenty, which was appreciated since we drink a lot of both. The staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful throughout. The twin room beds were much too small for me. Because of my disabilities and pain I move around a lot in my sleep, and each time I moved I woke up. I was worried I could fall out, so I couldn’t sleep in the bed. The receptionist sorted a room change straight away, which made a big difference. A huge thank you for that.

I didn’t feel safe during my one night stay. The receptionist realized I was travelling alone as a woman and said he’d moved me from my original second floor room to the first floor, right beside the lifts and stairs. He was pushy when I asked why. I went to see the room and didn’t like that it was next to stairs leading to the underground car park, where I could smell weed from men smoking at odd hours. I asked the same staff member to move me back to my original room or somewhere farther from the lifts. He kept insisting there was a policy to put solo women on the first or ground floor, and tried to frighten me with it. I said I didn’t want a ground floor room. He eventually gave in after I pushed back, but still wanted me to verbally acknowledge I was breaking the policy. When I asked, he couldn’t show me any official document about it. I’ve stayed at many Travelodges before and since this visit and have never heard of that policy.

The staff were really nice, and I enjoyed the breakfast. The room was too warm, with no air, and the bed wasn’t comfortable. The pillows were hard, and the cups and kettle were gritty, so we had to wash them before using them. We didn’t sleep well because of the heat. There was a fan, but we couldn’t get it set up during the night.

Clean and comfortable, though pretty basic for what it costs. There was tea and coffee in the room but no cups. Breakfast had lots of choice and tasted nice, until my partner spotted a cockroach crawling across the floor while we were eating. A staff member picked it up and put it in the bin 😬
