We came in for a quick sandwich and a drink. The fresh bread was wonderful, with a huge amount of filling, and the tea for two was a lovely strong brew. Great service. I gave the rooms five stars even though we didn’t stay, because I didn’t want that to affect a well-deserved five-star review.

There were four of us on a weekend in The Cotswolds, and we were well looked after. Justin was very responsive from my first accommodation enquiry. The rooms were compact but extremely clean and comfortable, and the location is superb. They’re at the back of the Tearoom, so it’s very quiet, and there’s a shared courtyard too. Breakfast this morning was huge, very well cooked and made with quality produce. Nothing was too much trouble for Deb in the tearoom. We felt like our custom mattered. Thank you, we’ll recommend it and come back 😊

A perfect place to pause, admire the lovely Cotswolds high street and people-watch. There’s a great choice of cakes and drinks, including a fabulous tangy lemon cake, and the service was lovely, with everything brought to our table.

The scone was nice, but the portions of jam and cream were really small. When I asked for a little more, I was told I’d have to pay extra. At £9.25 each for a cream tea, I thought it was a reasonable request. For comparison, a cream tea at Pembroke Lodge on Richmond Hill is £6.50 and comes with a big pot of fresh jam and more cream than you could eat. Burford is certainly picturesque, but that doesn’t mean people will pay 40% more for 40% less.

We stopped by Priory Burford Cafe for tea and cakes on a cold winter day. The cream tea with fruit scones was delicious, and the carrot cake and lemon drizzle cake we tried were great too.
