Staff were excellent, and the location was great. I spent a couple of nights here and slept really well in the comfortable bed. Breakfast was good, with quality products. Just note that the two bedrooms are reached by outside steps, and there’s no lift.

The staff were really kind, and the pie was amazing. I ordered the Beef Brisket with Peppercorn Sauce Pie at The Royal Oak, and it was one of the best meals I’ve had during my stay in Burford. I’d definitely recommend it for traditional British pub food.

The service was friendly every time, and the Folly Road beer was great. I especially liked the Hazy. We first tried The Royal Oak on Friday after the restaurants suggested by our campsite, about 2 miles from Burford, seemed too expensive to my wife, even with the 10% discount. She found this place as an alternative, and the pies were really good. We returned Saturday for the meat and haloumi burgers, then came back for Sunday lunch too. At this rate, I think we should own shares. It was good value, and we left full after each visit.

Our 10 mile walk from home in Witney ended at this lovely pub, and we were both in the mood for burgers, which we hardly ever eat. The staff were very friendly, and the burgers were perfect. I chose salad instead of chips, and it was delicious and beautifully presented. Sorry I didn’t take a photo. We’ll be back.

The service was quick, friendly, and wonderful. We had an amazing lunch at The Royal Oak today, starting with White Onion soup and then Lamb. Both were absolutely delicious. Thanks to the whole team.
