The views here are superb, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed at the caravan site and had Sunday roast that was seriously tasty. The pork just melted, and the Yorkshire pudding was enormous. We'll definitely be back 😃

Karen was especially warm and attentive, adding a personal touch, and everyone made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. My partner and I spent two nights here over Valentine's weekend. The room felt cosy despite being spacious, the decor was lovely, and the bathroom was spotless. We'd happily come back to enjoy the hotel and beautiful scenery again.

We keep coming back to eat at Mellington Hall, and the food is always tasty and nicely presented. The chef and kitchen team consistently do a brilliant job. The grounds are kept in great shape, and the staff are lovely. Paul, Sarah and Nick are a wonderful team. It's also a great place to stay, and dogs are welcome :) Looking forward to more enjoyable evenings in 2026. Well done, everyone!

The reply to this review says, “You only leave one star reviews.” That's not true. The response itself shows why Mellington has such a poor local reputation. Terrible customer service and clearly bad business owners. I'd strongly recommend avoiding it. Our Christmas meal for nine had been booked and confirmed more than a month ahead. The day before, they called to cancel because they'd decided to give the booking to a larger party. Nine people isn't even a small group. This was meant to be our early Christmas Day, planned well in advance because some relatives work away over Christmas. Several had already booked and paid for long-distance travel from London and elsewhere specifically to be there. We explained all that, but the team made no real effort to put things right or offer a reasonable alternative. With less than 24 hours left, we were scrambling to find a table for a large group during one of the busiest times of year. The cancellation was entirely their fault, yet the customer service was awful. I won't use Mellington again, and I'll tell friends and family in the area to avoid it too.

A really nice, quiet place to stay. Our room was very clean, the staff polite and the food good. We stayed one night with our children and would definitely visit again.
