We were so pleased with our stay that we changed our plans and had breakfast at the hotel. The two full English breakfasts were excellent, and there was yogurt, cereal, fruit and pastries to pick at while we waited. The restaurant staff member was lovely, quick and well on top of things. We’d come for a birthday treat for my wife. Room 12 was spotless, modern and roomy, with a lovely view. The bathroom was well designed, and the shower was clean and had some of the best pressure I’ve had in a hotel. We had all the basics too, including a big TV, coffee machine, kettle, hairdryer and ironing board. Getting there was easy, with free parking and lots of spaces. It’s a short walk to Buxton centre, close to everything we wanted. Check-in was warm, and all the staff we met were cheerful. They seemed to enjoy their work and taking care of guests, which really stood out. We’re already thinking about returning in July for our wedding anniversary. A fantastic hotel, made even better by the team’s care and attitude. Jason & Vicky

We booked a room for the night as well as holding my dad’s funeral reception here. The staff really put in the effort to make sure things went well, whether you’re there for an event or staying over. The food was outstanding. Breakfast was fantastic, and the reception buffet looked beautiful. It’s still a family-run hotel, as it has been for decades, and you can see that in the service. Thanks for helping the day go so well. We’ll certainly recommend it as our first choice to friends visiting the area.

The restaurant food was varied and delicious, and the staff looking after us were attentive, which you don’t find everywhere. Everyone we met was friendly and helped make our overnight stay memorable. Our room was immaculate and excellent. Tea and coffee were provided, and when my husband asked for a jug of milk, the staff brought one without a fuss. There was also an iron and ironing board available if I needed them. We’ll be back.

Breakfast was delicious and made to order. We arrived late on Friday evening and had missed the restaurant’s last ordering time, but they still let us have dinner. We felt welcome straight away, thanks to every staff member we met being so friendly and helpful. We stayed for two nights this weekend and couldn’t fault it. We’ll definitely visit again!

We were sorry to leave after three nights at the Lee Wood Hotel in Buxton. One of us was attending a conference and the other was having a mini-holiday, and it worked really well for both. The room had plenty of space and was cosy, whether we were relaxing or doing a bit of work. The team were warm, kind and friendly, and the hotel was sparkling clean. We also loved the food, and Buxton is an easy stroll away. It was fantastic value for money too. We had such a good stay and would highly recommend the Lee Wood Hotel to anyone visiting Buxton.
