We checked out straight away, even though we’d planned to stay longer. The hosts showed us no empathy or respect, and the rooms were tiny and uncomfortable for the money. We also asked for a room lock, but they refused and said, “no one is going to enter your room when you are not there.” I understood that, but still wanted a key, and they weren’t cooperative. When we arrived, the man said it was okay to leave our luggage, without mentioning any fee. We only planned to store it and go, but when we got there the woman demanded £25. We paid without hesitation. She came into our room while asking for the money, and the man didn’t speak to us directly. He took cash, which made us wonder if they wanted to avoid accountability or tax. The next morning, the woman was still rude when we asked about extending our stay and moving to a cheaper room. The man also asked, out of nowhere, “are you indian or pakistani.” It felt racist and disrespectful. I also couldn’t post a review on booking.com. I don’t know how, but it seems the reviews there have been manipulated, and they have a great rating that led me to book in the first place. Anyone considering a stay should be wary of the hosts.

Such a warm welcome from very friendly people. I had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it. I’ll come back next time I’m in London.

The location is really handy, with a bus stop almost right outside and tube stations easy to get to. I’ve stayed twice now and felt welcome on both visits. The people are lovely, and the rooms and amenities are kept clean. Highly recommend.

Kate was an amazing host, and the whole stay was great. I’ll definitely be back.

The bed was comfortable and the station was close, but I came for a restful holiday and left unsatisfied. The room wasn’t as clean as I’d hoped: there was dust on the desk and noticeable tea stains on the bedside table that could easily have been wiped off. I’m not sure whether they were from previous guests. The listing said the rooms were soundproofed, but that wasn’t my experience. A baby screaming woke me in the early hours on the first night. The next night I was kept awake by snoring next door and conversations that carried on loudly past midnight. The hosts were nice, but I often heard them shouting and talking loudly too.
