We live under an hour away, so it was lovely to spend time exploring what’s right on our doorstep. There are plenty of nearby places to eat. We had a really nice meal at Horse and jockey, and found a new favourite for fish and chips in summer. The welcome was warm, the room spotless and thoughtfully equipped. A little home from home, only without the kids and chores.

Diane pointed us towards some good local cafés and restaurants, which helped make the stay just right. She was welcoming from the start, and the room had everything we needed. With fruit and cereal provided, breakfast was easy to sort in the room. We’d happily recommend staying at Diane's while exploring the area.

Diane gave us such a friendly, personal welcome when we rang the bell, and that set a lovely tone. The Blossom House is right in the middle of this delightful village. Parking was easy with no yellow lines, though I can imagine it might be harder once summer brings lots of tourists. There’s a pad outside the door if you need to leave Diane a message or ask for something. She also had local breakfast 'cafes' and restaurants to suggest. Her tone shifted when she mentioned the Star Pub, so we went there for dinner and were glad we did. We chose the garden room. It’s compact, but the doors open onto the back terrace patio, which made it feel much bigger. The afternoon sunshine came in, and we even saw a local black cat walk past. The room was spotlessly clean, smartly decorated, and had a very up-to-date bathroom with a heated towel rail. Heating worked really well, the hot water was properly hot, and Diane’s lovely smelling foaming bath 'lotion' made for a relaxing bath. There were plenty of cereal bars and some bananas, plus tea, coffee, a kettle and a small fridge with mini milk bottles. Post covid, Diane provides cereals and Oats so simple so you can make a basic continental breakfast yourself. Thanks, Diane, for the warm welcome and a lovely stay.

We had a delightful weekend. The room was beautiful, quiet, immaculately clean and really comfortable, and the big, delicious breakfast kept us going all day. Diane made us feel very welcome. We’ll definitely come back, and are already looking forward to it. Thanks for such a lovely time, Craig & Lisa Xx 👍😁😍

Diane was such a friendly, lovely lady, and we’re definitely planning to return in the New Year. The location is beautiful and not far from Bakewell. The bed and breakfast was first class, with a beautiful room and everything we needed. You can tell a lot of thought went into it.
