I was glad I picked this place for a late lunch stop in Calendar. The service was quick and the price wasn't high for the location. My highland burger with haggis and peppercorn sauce was delicious, and the portion was big. The cheesy garlic bread on the side was so good I could've eaten even more of it.

The pulled pork tacos were good and yummy, and the chicken shawarma tacos were probably the best thing on the menu. Halloumi fries were reliable and fine; the katsu chicken fries were okay but needed more sauce. The corn ribs were the big letdown, limp, dry, uncharred and covered in cheap sweet chilli sauce, with mayo on top. The salt and pepper chicken was crispy but very dry, with too much pepper and not enough salty or peppery flavour. We all had the small plates. Belhaven will never be Wetherspoons, however much it tries. The service was good, and it was nice to get out and have something other than a stir fry, but the food was the thorn in our rose.

The Waverley is always spotless, with a calm but fun atmosphere, and the staff are genuinely lovely. They're friendly, welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel at home. I've been countless times over the last few years, and this visit was just as good. I had the steak pie, my partner had chicken pie, and our dog Oskar got sausages. Every plate was cooked perfectly. The steak was tender, full of flavour and literally fell apart, and Oskar loved his sausages. It's a place we can count on for good food and service every time, and I couldn't recommend it more.

The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions and outstanding quality. We had lunch at the Waverley in Callander, where the service was excellent and friendly. The chef even came out to chat and share recommendations. We'd recommend a visit and will definitely come again.

The turkey roast dinner was fantastic, and both the food and service were amazing. We were only there for dinner, so I can't say what the rooms are like. It's dog friendly too.
