I wanted somewhere quiet and comfortable and stayed at Christ’s College. The College is beautiful, with five courts and very well-kept gardens. I spent many hours in fellows garden, the largest and most important one, which isn’t open to the public. It felt more like a little forest than a garden, and I loved the natural atmosphere. I was there in July, and August visitors may have the same issue: renovation noise in different parts of the College, along with the teenagers attending their “summers school,” made it disappointing.

Christ's College left me inspired. Its history and striking architecture give the place a strong sense of tradition and academic life. I enjoyed walking through the courtyards and gardens, and the library was a highlight, packed with books and other resources. The facilities seemed excellent for studying and research. The staff and students were welcoming and knowledgeable, and shared interesting details about the College’s history and academic programs. You can tell they care about education. Christ's College also has a lively student scene, with varied clubs and extracurricular activities to suit different interests. For anyone considering higher education in a historic, supportive setting, it seems like a strong option. I’d recommend a visit to see this impressive institution. Nice place to study! 🏛️🌟

It’s free to enter Christ's College, and you can visit throughout the year. A map is available to download from the homepage. Visitors can explore the courts and garden, though not go into the facilities themselves. The garden is especially nice for a quiet break from the busy city. Founded in 1437, the College has some buildings dating to the 17th century. It’s one of the larger Cambridge colleges open to tourists and offers a pleasant glimpse of student life. Well worth visiting, particularly since there’s no entry charge.

The sense of community at Christ's College stood out to me. It sounds like students share meals and lively debates, and that the college makes room for people from all backgrounds. There’s also plenty of support, from tutors offering personal guidance to activities beyond class. The place has a remarkable history, dating back to 1437, and you can feel that in its Tudor buildings and courtyards. At the same time, it seems firmly focused on modern academic life, with strong faculty and a broad choice of subjects across the sciences and humanities. Christ's College brings those things together in a way that makes it feel like a special place to study and build lasting friendships.

The room was much larger than a typical hotel room, with a tiny private shower set inside a huge toilet room. Check-in was easy, and the staff were welcoming. Breakfast had plenty of hot choices, including a full English, fresh fruit and salmon. The hall felt a bit dirty and neglected, though, and the staff didn’t seem concerned. I’d skip the bread and pastries, they weren’t bakery quality. The college is right in the centre, and my superior room looked out over a lovely garden. I took an Uber from the station for about £8, including a £2 tip, then walked back in around 20 minutes.
