We enjoyed our Sunday lunch, which was tasty, delicious and generously portioned, and the owners were attentive and pleasant. Our mains came with a huge Yorkshire pudding, a couple of slices of beef, hot cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, green beans and carrots. The plates were cold, but everything was nicely cooked. The vegetable soup starter was delicious, though it was a small bowl and we weren’t offered a roll or a slice of sourdough. We had mango sorbet and a mini apple crumble with ice cream for dessert. A nice extra would have been horseradish with the beef roast. I should have asked for it, but it’s something I expect with Sunday roast. We were half an hour late and apologised, so the traditional roast had been reheated, which was perfectly acceptable in the circumstances. Our table was in a rather chilly dining room, too far from the open fire in the inglenook fireplace. In these difficult times, I wish the owners well.

We usually have the Thai food here and it’s always very good. Last Sunday we had visitors, so we booked for six and went for Sunday lunch instead. I understood why they needed us to say when booking that we wanted the roast rather than the Thai menu, and to choose our meat, since Thai is the only option during the rest of the week. We were all impressed. The lunch was delicious, everything cooked perfectly, and we finished with apple crumble and custard. We’ll definitely come back. Thank you.

A really nice pub with two bars, a good garden and plenty of parking. Dogs are welcome, the cask beer is good, including Ruddles Best and Taylors Landlord, and the Thai food is amazing with a big menu to choose from.

Jeremy and the team were really friendly and looked after us well. We came to The White Horse in Barton today for a Sunday roast, and it was honestly one of the best pub roasts I’ve had in ages. I’d definitely recommend it.

The curries were the best part, with tasty vegetables cooked just right. The place was clean, as you’d expect in a Thai restaurant, and service was good. The food was okay overall, but the noodle dishes didn’t work for me. The prawns were mushy.
