We came for Sunday dinner rather than staying over. There was a good selection and the food was nice. The staff were good, but once dinner was served they seemed slow to clear the table and take our dessert order.

A traditional Scottish hotel in a great location, with exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Rhona deserves a special mention for looking after four golfers with such style and care.

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, comfy chairs and good decor, with plenty of staff on. The steak pie had loads of meat and a piece of puff pastry on top, and the veg was cooked perfectly. Chips were nice too. The Parmesan Chicken was okay, with a nice bit of chicken and a decent amount of spaghetti, though it came with only one small piece of garlic bread. Decent menu.

The only real thing this place has going for it is the nice view by the loch. It’s very expensive for both food and overnight stays, and badly needs a revamp and a serious rethink of its prices.

We stopped at the hotel bar on our way back from the Waverley Paddle Steamer trip. The restaurant was really busy, so we ordered soup and a drink at the bar. The soup was great, with a fresh hot roll, and the staff were friendly even though they were run off their feet. Comfy place to spend an hour. I’d recommend it if you’re in the area.
