The food was delicious at every meal, from breakfast and lunch through to the Sunday roast. A shout-out to the chefs. Paul and the team were friendly and easy to approach, and nothing was too much trouble. We’ve just returned from a three-night stay at a great base for exploring a lovely old English town. We’d definitely come back, if only for the kind hospitality from everyone.

The bar is pleasant, and the rooms are comfortable. In winter, the heating works well. The full English breakfast should keep you going until tea time. One small drawback: the water is pumped to the rooms, and it can be noisy if the people next door keep a different schedule. All in all, recommended.

The steak pie and a glass of red wine made a lovely end to my Saturday. I was visiting town and decided to get dinner after finding the other touristy places full. I’m glad I made my way to Millers Arms. The restaurant felt cozy and welcoming, the service was great, and the pie was delicious. Thanks to the Millers Arms for wrapping up my day so nicely.

The mash was disappointing, cold and grainy. The rest of the food was delicious: the scotch egg was perfectly seasoned with a jammy yolk, and the steak and ale pie had deep flavors that the gravy brought out even more. That gravy might be the best I’ve tried in Canterbury, rich, savory, and comforting.
