The beds were very comfortable, and our room had a great view of the Millenium Stadium and river. Staff were all very friendly and nothing felt like too much trouble. Breakfast had a wide selection and was fresh. The main public areas of the hotel are very nice, but the room looked very dated and definitely needs refurbishing. The shower curtain wasn’t long enough, so water leaked onto the floor. Parking costs £17 per 24 hours.
6/10
It’s well placed for restaurants, bars, shops and the train station, and there’s parking behind the hotel. The room was clean and spacious, with a very comfortable bed. Staff were welcoming, and the restaurant meal was nice. There was a good breakfast choice, though the cooked breakfast was cold, which was my only complaint.

Cardiff Central station is an 8-10 minute walk away, and the castle is barely two minutes on foot. The hotel is right on Castle Street, with restaurants, cafes and Churches around the corner and two public bus stops about a minute away. The restaurant food was tasty, and the hotel has all the amenities. I had a pleasant stay.
6/10
The helpful, friendly staff and great location were positives. But the hotel feels tired, and the rooms are small. The carpet had stains in several spots, the bathroom products were bog standard, and the coffee was cheap and there wasn’t much of it. I wouldn’t stay again unless there’s a substantial refurbishment.
10/10
The staff are always welcoming, and the Welsh cakes waiting in Reception on arrival are scrummy. I love staying here. It isn’t too expensive, depending on the date, and I enjoy collecting IHG app points for the occasional free room and upgrade. Depending which side your room is on, you look out over the Castle wall or stadium. I ALWAYS get the Nachos to start and Chicken schnitzel for my main. Haven’t made it to the Honeycomb cheesecake yet!!! Well done, folks, the hotel is brilliantly well kept.
