The bed was comfortable, the room warm and clean, and the staff nice. The pool was lovely and the gym was good. Novotel Cardiff is central, but I found it short on extras and wouldn't call it a four-star experience. I'd stay again only if I were stuck and couldn't find better value nearby. The bathroom fan was broken, leaving a musty smell. We had two bottles of soap but no shampoo, biscuits, spare toiletries at reception or even a toothbrush. The hair dryer was rubbish, there was no fridge, and there was no light over the dressing table, so you couldn't see while using the dryer. Parking was £24 a night and breakfast £18 per person, which felt like a rip-off. The restaurant had no gluten-free food and everything was exceptionally overpriced.

The hotel felt modern but cosy, and the rooms were fresh and clean. Everyone we met, from reception to housekeeping, was friendly and welcoming. The price was very reasonable, and I was so pleased with the stay that I've already booked another visit.

We stayed over the post-Christmas and New Year period, and the decorations gave the hotel a lovely festive, almost magical feel. The pool, sauna and gym were clean, well kept and pleasant to use. Our room was cosy, clean and comfortable, just right after a long day. Service was outstanding, especially from the Polish lady at reception. She was kind and professional, took care of every issue straight away and gave us really useful local information. We were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend the hotel.

The food at The Customs Shed was spot on, especially the sea bass. Lit was also amazing, such a friendly guy. I was here for a few nights on a work trip and will definitely stay again. It’s in a great spot, with a gym, pool, sauna and steam room on site. A real pleasure, thanks guys.

The staff were extremely polite, and the beds were super comfortable and cosy. The spa felt clean and modern, with a large pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. After breakfast, the staff surprised my partner with a birthday cake. Thanks to Liz and Barbara for making the stay memorable. We'd highly recommend it and will return.
