The Inn On The Loch

The views were amazing, the food was lovely, and the room was spotless with a very comfortable bed. There was a slight mix up with the rooms when we arrived, but the owner sorted it out quickly. The staff were great too. A fantastic place to stay, and we’d definitely recommend it and return.

This was my third stay, and I had the Loch facing room with a balcony again. The view was beautiful on an Autumn day, and the Swans came up for a visit. It’s so peaceful and idyllic, and well worth staying in. The rooms are clean and tidy, breakfast is lovely and the staff are friendly. My one gripe is the busy road nearby, but it’s still good value for money.

We booked two rooms for ourselves and family, including one with a loch side view. The setting was so peaceful and tranquil that you’d never think the hotel was just off the main A road. The rooms were clean and well furnished, the facilities were good, and the onsite restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was delicious. I had the lighter option, which was more than enough, while Si’s Scottish full breakfast could have fed a family of four! This little gem is tucked just off the A75. I’ve passed it many times on trips around Dumfries and had no idea what a treat I was missing. If you’re after somewhere comfortable, friendly and convenient, it’s definitely worth considering.
