We spent the weekend at The Ship Inn for a friend's wedding, and the scenery and peaceful, remote setting were a real treat. We especially enjoyed the views and the beer garden in the lovely weather. Jonathan, one of the owners, had already made us feel looked after before we arrived. He was welcoming and informative, gave us a personal touch, and kindly let our two dogs stay with us. Once there, every staff member was friendly, attentive, and professional, even with the hotel booked out for the wedding. The bar and restaurant service was brilliant. The food came out quickly despite the busy venue, and was fresh, hot, and beautifully presented. From the arrangements before arrival to the end of the weekend, we had an incredible stay. If you're looking for somewhere in Gatehouse of Fleet, I wouldn't recommend anywhere else. A solid 10/10, and we can't wait to return.

The Ship Inn made my wedding reception everything I’d hoped for. They helped with guest bookings, food, the DJ, and the service on the evening, and couldn’t have done more for me. A special thank you to Martin, Alina, Jonathon and Xav for all their help in the run-up to the wedding. The food was amazing and the rooms were very comfortable. Everyone who stayed here loved it, and I’ve even persuaded some guests to choose the Ship Inn over other local hotels. Thank you so much from John & Olivia! x

We had a fabulous weekend at The Ship, with the wedding reception there on Saturday afternoon for my daughter’s wedding. Room number 1 was spacious and comfortable, overlooking the Main Street, and its bathroom seemed new and modern. The shower over the bath worked efficiently. The food was varied and beautifully served, and we really enjoyed the Scottish breakfasts each morning. Bar staff were friendly and helpful in the evenings. We couldn’t find much to fault.

The Ship Inn is ideally placed for enjoying the town or heading out for bike rides in the gorgeous surroundings. The food was incredible, and all the staff were fantastic and happy to help with anything we needed. We could hear people walking outside our room, though it never bothered us since the other guests were respectful. We had a wonderful stay, and I didn’t want to leave!

I only wish I’d had time to try the restaurant and enjoy that gorgeous big bath. I arrived late and had to leave early after staying overnight for work at GGs yard ahead of a wedding the next morning. The room was beautiful, clean, and welcoming, with a lovely big bathroom. The owner made sure I was looked after and even offered to arrange breakfast for my early departure. It’s just minutes from the venue, with lots of on street parking right outside. I’d definitely return and recommend it to wedding vendors or guests in the area. Thanks to the owner for making me welcome and going out of their way to accommodate me ⭐️
