Premier Inn Chelmsford - Springfield

Garry from room service was especially kind and efficient. After changing the bedsheets and towels, he even came to find me at reception, which I really appreciated. Breakfast was enjoyable too. I was in Chelmsford for a three-day, two-night conference. The room felt spacious and comfortable, and the stay was good overall. It would be handy to have a water fountain for refilling bottles. There's bottled water in the vending machine and an M&S nearby. Just be aware there's no fridge or microwave.

The team made us feel so welcome, like we were at home. I was treated with care and dignity as an elderly guest, and they looked after us very well. My daughter even got a Guinness on the house while we waited for our room. I stayed here with my daughter and we had a lovely time.

The receptionist working Friday the 23rd deserves a huge round of applause. An unfortunate situation came up that was completely outside her control, but she stayed calm and professional throughout. She firmly handled a fairly aggressive contractor from off site with the guests' care in mind, where plenty of people might have cracked. She got us checked in and sorted quickly, and made us feel very welcome. I hope she knows she made our evening, and earned herself the biggest glass of wine when she got home.

Brooke was back on duty again this morning, and it was great to see her. On my first stay at this Premier Inn, I haven't come across a staff member as pleasant, hardworking and diligent as she is. She's exactly the sort of person you want in hospitality and a real credit to the organisation. The stay was first class, as always, and the food was superb, especially breakfast. I've stayed at plenty of Premier Inn hotels over the years.
