Doubletree by Hilton Cheltenham Park

We weren’t rushed on departure since checkout is at 12, and the pool and spa suited us perfectly. It’s also easy to catch a bus into town. Sarah at the front desk was a huge help when we had a problem with our room. The service throughout was exceptional, and it’s a brilliant hotel and spa.

The pool was a good size and nice and warm, though a few children were left to their own devices. Their parents were in the pool too, but ignored them. We went in with an open mind after seeing mixed reviews. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the restaurant and bar food was delicious and nicely presented. Breakfast was the usual hotel buffet. We had to wait for glasses, bowls and eggs on both mornings, but we’d gone at the busiest time. The serving and kitchen teams handled allergies knowledgeably and well. We’d definitely return.

Our room was clean and at the back, so it was really quiet. The pillows and duvet were so good I wish I could buy the same ones. It was on a lower level down a fairly long corridor, but that wasn’t a problem, and they offered to help with our bags. We used the gym and pool, and had tasty, generous food in the lounge bar. The reception team and staff in general were very helpful. I’d been a bit wary after reading some negative reviews, but there was no need.

Yana and the Turkish gentleman working there made our stay memorable. I can’t remember his name, but he was such a lovely, amazing guy. Yana was kind too, and the hospitality really stood out. Breakfast was amazing. It was our first time staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham Cotswolds. My wife, our daughter and I had a great two-night visit. We’ll definitely be back in the summer.
