Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham Town Centre

The breakfast was awesome, with such a huge selection that anyone could be happy with it. The bar has tea, coffee and alcoholic drinks, plus a TV, books and a pool table. Our rooms were spotless and well stocked with tea and coffee, and the soap and shampoo smelled amazing. The hotel was beautifully clean when we arrived, and every staff member was welcoming, friendly and wonderful. They worked incredibly hard to look after guests. Special mention to Dawn, the superstar of the team during our stay. Staff care clearly about everyone’s wellbeing and will do anything they can to help. You can get discounts at some nearby restaurants, and hotel guests can use the nearby gym and pool. Everything you could want is right on the doorstep. Thanks to all the staff at The Holiday Inn Cheltenham, especially Dawn, for such a special stay.

The hotel is right in the city centre, handy for an impromptu walk around town, with lots of places to visit nearby. The hotel itself is fine, breakfast is lovely, and the staff are very accommodating. It was nice to meet some Filipino staff who came over and made us feel welcome.

There’s NCP parking directly opposite. It’s about £10 for 24hrs if you get reception to scan your ticket before paying at the NCP machines. The room has tea and coffee, an iron and board, air-conditioning, an opening window for fresh air, and a TV with most Freeview channels. Breakfast is a buffet with the usual fried and continental options.

The room smelled strongly of sewage when we arrived, but we were moved to another one and that room was fine. Everything else was fine until the second night, when we asked for a bar snack after 9pm. We’d been told the previous night that some snacks were available then. This time the night manager said that wasn’t the case and that nobody had told us otherwise the evening before. Calling your guests liars is very poor customer service. Very unprofessional.
