Breakfast was laid-back in the kitchen of the family home. The hosts were there to make any cooked food we asked for and have a chat. It’s about a 20-minute walk to Cheltenham centre and 10 minutes to the parks, cafes and restaurants in Montpellier. A real find. We had the lower ground floor flat, a comfy, homely place with everything we needed: tea, coffee and fresh milk, biscuits, a TV, DVD player and DVDs, big squishy chairs and sofa, comfortable beds, towels and basic bathroom toiletries. It was rather like an above-average Airbnb. The downside was hearing a lot of noise from upstairs. It’s a busy household, with plenty of movement during the day and something like a washer-dryer running overnight.

Our room was ready earlier than expected, which was a lovely surprise. Gilly and Hugh welcomed us so warmly, and they’re delightful, charming hosts. The homemade breakfast was delicious. A fantastic place for an overnight stay in Cheltenham, we couldn’t have asked for better!

It’s well placed for a short walk into Cheltenham centre. The hosts were lovely, the bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. I’d stay here again.

The owners were so friendly and went out of their way to make our stay nice. We could use their beautiful garden whenever we wanted. We had a lovely time at this B&B and will definitely come back.

Laurel House turned out much better than I expected. I thought it would be "nice", but it’s excellent, with first-rate facilities and a lovely couple running the place. It’s close enough to walk into the centre. Great value, lovely beds, free wifi, a great breakfast and more besides. The only bad points are so minor it’d be pathetic to mention them. I’d highly recommend it!
