The George Hotel and Montys

A great stay, even if it was only one night with friends. The hotel’s right in the center, with lovely decor and spacious rooms. The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast the next morning was superb. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great visit, we’ll be back for sure.

We booked two rooms for three nights over a long weekend, including the dog package for our little dog. We had the smaller Edgy room, while my son and his partner took the larger Urban. The location worked really well, with high quality restaurants a five to ten minute walk away and a dog-friendly pub just a couple of minutes away. Staff were excellent: when the safe in our room, number 45, didn’t work, they put our valuables in the main safe. We appreciated Monday’s late checkout, which gave us more time in town, and that they looked after our cases before check-in and after checkout. Breakfast had a superb choice of eggs, prepared in just about every way. Parking at the front and back was easy for us, though it could be harder if you arrive late. The only small drawback was how dark our room was, and it was hard to see what we were doing at the little table and ledge with the kettle and coffee machine. Happy to recommend, especially for dog owners.

Such a gem of a hotel. We only stayed one night, but the room was a great size and very comfortable. Loved the decor, the breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We’ll be back.

Everyone was delighted with this fabulous hotel for our work event. We booked four rooms, and it’s ideally placed for Cheltenham's Brewery Quarter. Communication was excellent, and the hotel was happy to meet our requests. We appreciated getting room upgrades for booking directly. We’ll definitely use it again.
