The comfortable lounge and helpful staff were good. The location is excellent, just outside Chester in a quieter part of town. Our room was good, though the old single-glazed windows had a lot of condensation, probably hard to avoid in a building like this. There were a couple of minor bathroom issues, but reception quickly noted them.

The room was too warm at night, which is why I’ve given it four stars, but everything else was five star. Service was very good, the people were friendly and breakfast had a great choice with plenty to eat. Thanks to everyone at the hotel. We were in Chester for our grandson’s graduation, and the hotel was ideally placed for town. The Cathedral and the centre are an easy walk away. Highly recommend.

We had our daughter's 21st birthday party here at the weekend and it was a fab night. The buffet was really good, with food for a vegan and a gluten-free guest. Staff let us decorate the room as we wanted, and even took care of setting up the chocolate fountain we brought. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed all weekend and were able to have non-staying guests join us for breakfast both mornings, which was very good too. We’d stayed here before and would recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly hotel in the city. Lynne and Alan Goodwin

Just back from two nights here. The location and breakfast were excellent, and the room and hotel were spotlessly clean. The staff couldn’t have been more polite or helpful. Highly recommended.
