Finding the hotel without GPS was a bit daunting, though its spot just off the motorway made it handy for continuing our journey. Inside, everything was simple enough: friendly welcome, clear signs and room numbers, and straightforward service. The room was basic but clean, hygienic and warm with the heater on. There was a good range of food for this sort of hotel, and the portions and quality were good. I did wait longer than expected between my starter and main. The restaurant is spacious, while the bar area is small. All in all, a satisfactory stay.

The staff were so friendly and keen to help, and they made my daughter smile by chatting with her. When they learned we were bringing a young child, they put us on the ground floor to make things easier. They also changed my booking without any fuss. Thank you.

The breakfast was delicious, and the team were happy to cook veggie sausages and poached eggs. Big thanks to Ian the night manager, who was polite, friendly and helpful, and to Hannah & Lisa too. The bed and shower were good, and the free parking felt secure and the place was quiet. Well recommended.

Barbara was warm and helpful all the way through my stay, and kept going the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable and things were well organised. Her professionalism and genuine care added a personal touch and made a real difference. I had a lovely stay, and really appreciated her kindness and excellent service.

We were only there for one night, and the standard room did the job. Breakfast was good value, and the staff were friendly and helpful, answering our questions and sorting out what we needed to feel comfortable. The pub attached serves food and breakfast, and is great for kids. Our venue was five minutes away, and there are ways to get into the centre of chesterfield from the hotel.
