The food was excellent, and all five of our different meals were really nice: steak, gammon, fish pie, fish and chips, and a burger, with proper chips too. We followed those with five desserts. The crumble was a very good portion, and the sticky toffee Christmas pudding was delicious. The woman who took our orders and brought the food was fantastic all evening. My parents had recommended the pub for a meal and real ale. I admit I checked the reviews on booking day and felt a bit worried, but it didn't disappoint. There were, I think, five Titanic beers plus three guest ales, traditional pub decor and lovely Christmas lights. We found a space in the car park too. I'd like to come back in daylight and enjoy the countryside next time.

The wood fires were very welcome on a chilly day, and the Titanic brewery beer was excellent. The food was good too. With candles on the tables, the pub has an old-time atmosphere and is certainly worth visiting. We'd wanted to come for some time, and stopped in midweek around tea time after an afternoon out for a drink and a meal.

The Old Poets Corner puts on some of the best events in the region, with a great mix of entertainment and food. We went for a truly exceptional Burns night, and the food, service and entertainment were all fabulous. It's a quaint, characterful pub and well worth a visit. I've attached a couple of videos to give you an idea of what The Old Poet's Corner has to offer.

A lovely village pub with a cosy, welcoming feel. Dave the landlord is cheeky and approachable, and clearly takes pride in the place. The staff are great, and not bad to look at either. The food is perfect pub grub.

The accommodation was clean and reasonably priced, and the meals came in good portions with healthy choices. The cooked breakfasts were fine, though there was no cereal or fruit. David the manager was very jovial and nothing was too much trouble. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was good. Gordon and Carolyn
