On a soggy day in Chichester, this was a very welcome stop. The staff were warm and helpful, and there was plenty of space in the restaurant, though we’d have preferred it a little warmer. The two of us had an excellent freshly cooked lunch: smoked haddock with poached eggs, and liver and bacon with onions. Good prices for the quality, especially compared with nearby places that offer less choice. We’ll go again.

The bar had a great atmosphere and competitive prices. Breakfast was freshly cooked to a really good standard, and there was a good choice for dinner, beautifully prepared too. I had an excellent room with a great shower over the bath, although friends travelling with us had a much smaller one. It was our first visit to Chichester, and we enjoyed the selection of independent shops. The Weald and Downland museum, only 6 miles away, was a bonus and is definitely worth a visit.

It was a busy Sunday evening, which surprised us, but the food was excellent. My wife enjoyed the carverine service, and the team handled the busy night well. We’ll definitely come back when we’re in Chichester.

We had our staff Christmas dinner here last night and had a great time. The food was amazing and very well priced, and the pub and restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were friendly and lovely too. We’ll definitely return. Thankyou

After a decade of good meals and service at the Nags Head, we booked a table for 3pm today and found it still wasn’t ready at 3:15. We felt ignored while we waited. I’ve spent my working life in catering, including at a family restaurant with twice as many seats, and we always put bookings first because they mattered to local customers. I told the owner how badly managed things felt; he agreed the restaurant was overwhelmed and the staff seemed unsure what to do. I’m hugely disappointed. We won’t be coming back to this Pub. They may not miss our custom, but it felt like money mattered more than care.
