The Crown Inn

Such a cosy place, and we felt welcome straight away. Kirstie was lovely and helped us with directions. There was loads to choose from at breakfast, and we were really impressed: huge portions and delicious food. Lovely people, thank you.

The bar food was great, but everything else was a letdown. The room smelled damp, the shower leaked, the table and lamps were broken, there was dust on every surface, and the fire extinguisher was missing. My friends waited more than two hours to check in because the whole place was shut up and nobody was around. When someone finally arrived, they didn't even get an apology. Only two stars because of the good bar food.

We found this a cosy, quiet place to relax on the way to Bath. The rooms are well kept, and the staff are polite and helpful. It felt safe for our family, and there's designated parking.

The pub is still being refurbished, so some things aren't finished yet, but we had a very enjoyable stay. Our twin room was comfortable, clean and just off the rear courtyard. The building has lots of character, and the bar was lovely with its log fire on a cold weekend. The food was cooked to order and very nice, and our host was friendly and helpful. We'll happily stay at the Crown again and recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere beautiful in the area.
