Popped in on a Friday night and really liked the atmosphere. The pub is spacious, the bar staff and customers were friendly, and dogs are welcome too. They had the big telly showing the Winter Olympics, and a band arrived around 8pm and started setting up, though I left before they played. The cider was tasty, and I got a fresh stone-baked pizza from the kitchen, which was delicious. Drinks were pricey, but that seems in line with the area. I'd definitely visit again.

Since Barry took over as manager, the pub has lost the warm, welcoming feel that used to make it somewhere I looked forward to visiting. The atmosphere now feels cold and uncomfortable, and the staff seem tense and less approachable. Customer service has clearly gone downhill, and it feels as if regulars aren't valued anymore. It's sad to see a once-great local spot lose its charm. I hope things improve, but at the moment I wouldn't hurry back. If you can, there are other pubs within a 10 mile radius.

The pub had a friendly feel and a good choice of drinks. On the Friday we stayed, they were serving fresh pizzas, and honestly theirs were the best I've had in years, nothing like the usual fast food. Our room was clean and comfortable, with tea, coffee and hot chocolate, and the price was great. It's a lovely old building with lovely staff, and it does what it says on the tin. Thank you, Kings Arms. We'll definitely return.

I've been a local customer for years, and it's disappointing how far the pub has gone downhill since the new manager arrived. The service is repeatedly unfriendly and dismissive, and several regulars have been barred. That's hurt the community atmosphere.

As we came up to the pub, three men were standing in the doorway smoking and seemed to be deliberately blocking people from getting in. It was strange. Inside, nobody was friendly, not even with a small smile. I'm easy-going and not especially fussy about pub standards or cleanliness, but I really felt out of place here. Hospitality was zero. There are much better pubs nearby, with plenty of options if you walk five minutes further into the town centre. I won't be coming back. Good luck to them.
