The staff were friendly, helpful and polite, and the bill was very reasonable. The drinks went down well too, including Guinness, Cruzcampo and berries and cherries cider on draft. We had a vegetarian pizza and chicken fajita, both delicious. Two of the four of us chose the steak ciabatta from the lunch menu. They said it was superb: a very good cut of meat, cooked perfectly, with no gristly bits. The thick-cut chips were just as good. It’s a clean, thoughtfully updated traditional pub near a junction. Inside there’s plenty of uncluttered space, with a bar and several rooms. Out back, there’s a beer garden with picnic tables.

The rooms are so comfy, with amazing beds and a phenomenal shower. The food is top drawer too. The staff were absolutely fabulous, really friendly and helpful. I’m already looking for an excuse to come back. 100% recommend ❤️
The specials menu ribs were tender and full of flavour, and the burger was good too, with cheese, bacon and a tasty salsa. Both dishes arrived nicely presented, with good chips alongside. A delicious dinner. I’d recommend booking.
On my second visit, on 2 January, I had the delicious chicken and chorizo risotto and have attached a photo this time. I’d definitely come back again. My first visit was in mid September 2025. I rarely get to England, and flights can be expensive, so I don’t often get to see places around Chorley. I wasn’t sure what to expect at the Hinds Head Hotel. There were no photos on the menu, though my parents had been before and liked it. We had three different dishes: baked potato with tuna, fish and chips, and a chicken kiev for me. Mine was cooked nicely and presented very well, with great flavours. The mash was good too, and there was plenty of rich gravy to the end. I didn’t take a photo that time because there was a bit of a wait and I was hungry :-) Afterwards, I had a Cappuccino served in a large cup or mug with a matching saucer, then an Espresso. The staff were pleasant. The seats were wooden, and I’d honestly prefer some padding, but the toilets were clean, which is always important. It was about £22 per person, which I think is around average for England these days.
The views towards Winter Hill and Rivington are great. Good meal and beer, with excellent service.
