I had a really relaxing room, and room service was super quick. Reception was smooth too, so I was very happy with my stay and would recommend it. One thing that would help is a ramp at the entrance, so bringing luggage inside is easier.

The food was exceptional, and everyone on staff gave us amazing service. My partner and I had a wonderful stay in room 17, which was spotless, very comfortable, and had everything we needed and more. It’s perfectly placed for visiting the local spa and castle park. This really deserves five stars, and I’d highly recommend it for a luxury stay.

We first stayed at Greyfriars in 2023 for our wedding, and I’ll definitely come back for another special occasion. This time my wife and I spent two nights there for my 40th birthday. The Vinoly Suite, room 17, was huge, and the two freestanding baths were a great feature. We ate in the restaurant too, which I’d highly recommend. I’d never tried pheasant before and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We booked afternoon tea for eight to celebrate a special birthday. The venue and tea itself were pleasant, but the service let the occasion down. Once we’d been seated and served, nobody checked whether everything was all right or if we needed anything. We had to find staff ourselves to order more tea and later to pay. Even then, nobody asked how we’d found the experience.

The room had a quirky two-floor layout and a very comfortable bed. Since it was a small suite, a sofa or comfortable chairs would have been welcome. The tub chairs weren’t very comfortable. Service was excellent and breakfast was lovely. The hotel still keeps up traditional service values.
