The Victory At Mersea

A couple of weeks after our visit, I got a parking charge in the post. I hadn’t needed to think about that before 2020, and this time I parked facing the road and went straight to a garden table. I missed the signs about registering the car, including the one inside. When I called the Victory, the staff member was really helpful and apologised that they hadn’t asked whether I’d arrived by car. She said she’d tell the manager and arrange a call back. Karen called, and the charge was cancelled. We’d had such a lovely visit that I’ll certainly return. I was there with family in early October, my first time since before covid. The bar staff were friendly and helpful. My partner and I just had coffee, which we enjoyed, while his sister and brother-in-law had food that looked very nice. Next time I’ll remember to enter my registration now I know.

A nice place, friendly staff and good food. We went just after Christmas for a family meal, and it was pretty much all you want from a meal out 👌🏻

Lovely people and a lovely location, but horrible bugs. We haven’t stayed anywhere since, so we can only assume we picked up our unwanted guests here. It cost us £400 to get rid of them. I can’t prove it, of course, but do be a little careful.

The room was very clean and comfortable, and there’s parking on site for patrons. I stayed a couple of nights while visiting the Radio Caroline ship Ross Revenge. The staff were great and the food excellent.
