Premier Inn Bishop Auckland

For £130 a night, I expected much better. Dust coated the carpet edges, the bedding and pillows were old and stained, and the bathroom needed some care. The room smelled so bad I left the window open, ran the AC on full, and even kept the door open to try to clear it. I asked to move rooms, but was told they were fully booked, which is crazy. In the morning, the manager thought the room was in good condition. I’ve stayed at plenty of Premier Inns, and this one was the worst. For the same money, do yourself a favour and go to the Hilton. I stay in Premier Inns across the country every week, and this is the best one I’ve been to yet. The room was clean and laid out well, and receptionist Melodie was incredibly helpful and such a nice lady.

There’s a good pub with a beer garden on site, and Little Sicily, a good Italian restaurant, is just a short walk away. The staff were friendly, breakfast was good, and the bed was comfy. The shower had good pressure, and there’s aircon too.

Every staff member we met was friendly, helpful and polite. Breakfast at the Brewers Fayre across the way was lovely, and the staff there were just as pleasant. We stayed for the Kynren show, and the location was absolutely perfect. Our room was clean and spacious.
