Best Western New Holmwood Hotel

We were just there for lunch, not staying overnight, but the place looked tidy and clean and the service was good. The food came out hot. I really liked the salmon with its herby crust; the vegetables were simply done, but there was a good choice and they were cooked well. My banana parfait with chocolate ice cream was brilliant, and my friend polished off the treacle and carrot sponge in no time.

The seafront location is lovely, but the room was disappointingly dusty and there's plenty else that needs improvement. We'd booked dinner for 6.30pm, yet it didn't arrive until 8.15, even after we asked several times what was holding it up.

The food was pretty good, and the staff were excellent. The room was acceptable, though the main door only had an electronic lock, with no double-lock option, so I couldn't lock it that way. Parking availability is hit and miss, which gets annoying. There's a stony beach right opposite, and it's a good spot to watch yacht races or other events.

Back when I worked for Rolls Royce in 2018, I used to stay here. The food was fantastic, the staff were too, and I had a most enjoyable time. Thank you!
