The welcome was lovely from the friendly staff, including a nice lady who I assume was a manager. Check-in and check-out were easy, and they provided a cot, which was helpful. The place is a long walk from the main part of Cowes, though the seafront route is nice. The room needed a better clean: the towels had yellow stains and there were spill marks on the cushions. One bed in our twin room was wonky, slanted to the side, loud and squeaky. The bath was okay; one bedside light didn't work, but I liked having a ceiling fan. It isn't accessible for pushchairs or wheelchairs. We didn't eat there, so can't comment on the food.

Breakfast was nice and hot, with plenty of cereal and fruit as well as a separate menu card offering Full English, Vegetarian Breakfast or scrambled egg. My first-floor room was clean, quiet and excellent. The shower was brilliant, with plenty of hot water, and a couple of chocolates with my tea were a lovely touch. The staff I met were very friendly and welcoming. It's a lovely Hotel about 15-20 mins walk from The Red Jet Passenger Terminal in the town centre. There's a bar beside the main entrance, and parking on site. The room also had a trouser press.

We were only visiting for lunch, not staying, but everything looked clean and tidy and the service was good. The food came hot. I enjoyed the salmon with its herby crust; the plain vegetables were a good selection and cooked very well. My banana parfait with choc ice cream was brilliant, and my friend's treacle and carrot sponge disappeared in no time.

Since August 2025 I've been coming to the island for a project and have stayed at Premier Inn in Newport and Sandown Seafront, Travelodge in Ryde and Travelodge in Newport. Compared with all the others, this hotel is five stars. It's quiet and clean, with great internet and good water pressure. A bit dated, but it feels quality and has a bit of a throwback-to-yesteryears feel. Definitely recommend staying here.

The hotel is in a lovely position on the seafront, but the rest needs improving. My room was very dusty. We had booked an evening meal for 6.30pm, but it wasn't served until 8.15, despite several requests to find out why it was delayed.
