The £15 full English breakfast surprised me, especially since Mitchell Hall serves the same meal for £10 less with the student discount. The rooms are smaller than Mitchell Hall's, and for the price I expected a proper working heater instead of the small portable one provided. This place is smarter, with key cards, a gym, sauna and pool, but unless you'll use those last three, I don't think the extra cost is worth it. It's fine as a last minute option, just not at that price.

Fran deserves a special mention for taking such care of our event. Their professionalism, eye for detail and warm smile helped everything run smoothly. We hosted a meditation retreat at CMDC, and the calm conference space was just right for our mindfulness sessions. Guests could unwind in the clean, comfortable hotel, which was beautifully presented and peaceful, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The catering team made delicious, wholesome food suited to our dietary needs, and it looked impressive too. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return. Highly recommend.

The gym, little pool and sauna open early, which made for a nice start to the day, and breakfast had plenty of varied choices. We slept peacefully and had good Wi-Fi coverage, though the room felt a bit dated. The welcome was friendly, and the university location is convenient, with Bedford or Milton Keynes about 15 minutes away.

I was very disappointed by how this was handled. I noticed I'd left something in my room and contacted the staff that same day, but heard nothing after several calls and emails over the next two weeks. In the end they said nothing had been found. That leaves serious questions for me about how guests' belongings are handled. The silence and lack of accountability were unacceptable, and I no longer have confidence in the staff's honesty or professionalism. Future guests should keep this in mind before booking.
