The fixed shower over the bath was the main problem for me. The water pressure was extremely weak, the temperature was hard to control, and with the head fixed to the wall you can’t direct the water. That’s why I’ve given four stars. I’ve stayed a few nights and both rooms were spacious and clean, with comfortable beds. Parking was adequate and the service friendly. It’s around a 10 minute drive to the airport, and an easy walk into Crawley town centre for daytime shopping. The town can feel like a ghost town at night, though, with some places closing surprisingly early. A big plus for me is that the Ramada Inn still has a few rooms where smoking is allowed. Most hotels seem to have stopped offering that, and I think it makes sense to keep some rooms available for smokers.

The hotel’s main areas have some character, and the view depends on which room you get. It’s fairly close to the airport, and the area looks as though it could be nice in summer. The staff were friendly, and the room was decent, spacious and clean, with a nice desk. There was some noise from the street, other rooms and the hallways. The shower over the bath had low flow, and the bath was small and slippery. The sink also had separate hot and cold taps, which I find useless. Fine for a night or two while waiting for a flight, maybe for a summer holiday too.

Getting here was easy, and we found the room quiet and comfortable with simple parking. There are several other food options within an easy walk, as well as the hotel grill and restaurant. It’s all we needed for a bed before a flight. Purple Parking had booked our room for the wrong month, but that was sorted out. We were given a room that hadn’t been booked, then later someone else was sold the same room. They let themselves in, which surprised them as much as it surprised us. I’d stay again, but only in a properly booked room.

We were there for about two weeks and had a really nice stay. The hotel felt cosy and had a traditional English look. Our rooms were very clean, the food was good quality, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. They gave us a small bed upgrade and ground floor rooms because we had so many bags.
