The room was up on the top floor, a bit quirky, and had a lovely view. The beds were comfy, with good quality pillows and duvets, and we had everything we needed. The shower pressure wasn't great, but it was hot and did the job. Downstairs, the hotel was warm throughout. We liked the spacious dining room and the bar with sports on TV, and spent a pleasant evening there chatting with some lovely locals. Breakfast started with fruit and yogurt, then we had a full Welsh breakfast. The evening meals looked delicious too. We were welcomed into a cosy reception with a fireplace, sofas and a TV. We had such a lovely time in Criccieth, and only wished we'd stayed longer. We'll definitely come back.

For the money, you can't go wrong. The Lion is in a superb location, the staff are very helpful, and the rooms feel warm and cosy. The pillows were so good, too. Another great stay. Chef Subhro recommended the butter chicken, and it didn't disappoint. The food was very good, first class.

We stayed for two nights this week, my wife and I. The location worked well for visits to Caernarfon and the Llyn peninsula, and the reception area felt like a homely spot to relax. Our room was excellent, and both breakfast and the evening meals were very good. Everyone on staff was efficient, polite and exceptionally helpful. The bar was good too, with drinks at inexpensive prices.

We got a brilliant price through booking.com, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely spot on. The bar was a great place to grab some pints and relax while watching the football, and there are nice seating areas by reception. Great hotel to stay at. We'll be back very soon.

The food made our New Year celebration feel especially personal. Chef Noorshek and Subhro put together a wonderful spread of Butter Chicken, Tarka Dal, rice and fresh salad. Everything was seasoned just right and tasted like a high-end home-cooked meal. We'd asked for an authentic Indian feast during the busy festive period, and the team went above and beyond to make it happen. Their warmth and professional, attentive service made us feel very well looked after. Our stay at the Lion Hotel was unforgettable, and we couldn't have asked for a better way to ring in the New Year. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a hotel that treats guests like family.
