We popped in while passing and found a lovely Wee Bar with a roaring fire. Coffee with the best homemade scones was just the thing. I’d highly recommend stopping for the lovely view of Loch Earn too.

Sue was very accommodating when I asked about an unexpected room for me and my dog Shadow. The room was clean, cosy and peaceful, with a balcony, and I fell asleep listening to the rain. Breakfast was a lovely continental spread, and I couldn’t resist the baby croissants. I started my day with a lovely view of the loch. Extra points for letting my dog sit with me at breakfast. He’s a rescue and joined at the hip with me. Thanks so much, Sue! We’ll be back soon 🐾 x

The food was lovely, and the view we came for really is fantastic. But we were seated at the far end of a gloomy, lifeless, cold restaurant, nowhere near a window. We asked to move when a spot opened up, but were told more people were expected. They never showed. We took our coffee outside so we could enjoy those great views. Such a shame, because the chef was great and the place feels so ripe for a restoration project. And don’t miss the fitted tartan carpet in the loo!

We stopped over on the way home and had a perfect night’s sleep in a great room. Sue and the staff were lovely, and waking up to a view over the Loch was a treat.

Susan the Director is so welcoming, and her hospitality is really endearing. It’s especially good that the place is dog friendly. I couldn’t recommend it more.
