Kirkdale Hotel

I didn’t sleep at all because the floorboards creaked and the doors were loud. The staff were extremely rude, and customer service was nonexistent. This place was absolutely disgusting, and even one star feels generous. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

The location close to the city was the only good thing about this place. The whole hotel was filthy, the bathroom curtain was broken, and the manager was awful. I paid for a spa week with breakfast included, but the manager lied and refused to provide the breakfast I’d paid for. I got one boiled egg on just one of the seven mornings, and even that was handled in the rudest way. My shower kept failing. One morning, staff promised that a maintenance specialist would come at 5pm, but they forgot about me. Hours later, the manager told me no specialist had been contacted and wouldn’t come, and that he only had to switch on the boiler. I’d waited eight hours to find out whether I’d be moved to another room, as staff had mentioned, or whether the promised repair would happen. I couldn’t shower all day, and nobody apologized or did anything to make it right. I’ve never seen staff be so disrespectful and dishonest without consequences. I work in a hotel, and this is unacceptable. The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

I don’t think you’ve read the reviews, or why haven’t you fixed the complaints? The pictures make the place look clean and nice, but they’re deceiving. I was very disappointed when I got into the room: the curtains were torn and the carpet was dirty. I’ll never check in at Kirkdale.

I would never recommend this hotel. The en suite was filthy, with so much mould in the shower that it couldn’t be used, and the lounge was disgusting too. Every armchair was badly stained or threadbare, and there was a spare mattress standing in the room. This place is disgusting and could do with a visit from environmental health.
