The four of us were made to feel really welcome, from the friendly greeting and helpful rundown when we arrived to the lovely staff and locals later on. After a long day on the motorbikes, we had an outstanding meal and dessert, then spent some time in the bar playing pool and having drinks. Our double rooms had tea and coffee, Freeview TVs, a double bed and a shower over the bath. Everyone slept well. Breakfast was just the right size, with cereals and juice to help ourselves to, plus a full English and toast included. At £70 per room, it was worth every penny. We were only staying one night, but we’ll certainly use the place again.

Breakfast was a highlight, with plenty to choose from, and the cooked food arrived hot and promptly. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff gave us a warm welcome while keeping things relaxed and friendly. There’s a spacious car park and the location is great. We had an excellent four-night stay and will definitely come back.

That beer garden beside the river is a lovely place to unwind. We stopped for a drink and a leg stretch after a long drive, and the man opening up still made us feel very welcome and said nothing was too much trouble. The service was friendly throughout. The boys played pool while we had our drinks. Lovely place.

We enjoyed lunch outside in the sunshine, with parking easy in the huge car park. The smoked haddock fish cakes came with salad, and the Brie and cranberry panini came with chips. Everything was hot, tasty and nicely presented. I enjoyed it all, and the Shiraz went down well too.

The burger stack and butcher’s sausages were fantastic value, and the portions were just right, filling without being too much. We ate here on both the 14th and 15th May, the evenings before and of our wedding at Nantwen on the 15th. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was prompt, efficient and very friendly. Thanks so much to Brenda & staff for looking after us. We wish we lived closer so we could visit more often, and we’ll definitely be back so I can try more of the menu! ❤️
