The place was clean and tidy, and the people were really pleasant. We popped in for a meal today; they brought a bowl of water for our dog straight away. My wife enjoyed the pizza, and I loved the jaw breaker burger.

The Yorkshire pudding won me over, even though I’m usually not a fan. The vegetables were fresh and cooked just right, and those roast potatoes had a great crisp to them. The beef was so tender I could cut it with a butter knife, something I haven’t managed with beef I’ve ordered before. My number one spot for a Sunday roast.

We had a fabulous lunch here on Boxing Day. I ran into the owner outside, and it really does feel like a hidden gem. Good beers, great food, and bar staff so friendly they made us feel at home. Thank you, Mr Birchtree!

We tried several dishes, mostly from the street food menu, and were very pleased with the flavours and portion sizes. The cost was reasonable, and the service was great. I can only speak to the food, as we went in to eat and didn’t stay at the hotel. We’d definitely come back for a meal and recommend it to our friends.

Really enjoyed the food here. It’s a lovely pub, and I was impressed by the quality, taste, and portion sizes.
